One of the major clinical challenges in these tumors is to identify tumor specific vulnerabilities that can be therapeutically targeted. The lab focuses on understanding the underlying genetic reasons/ mutations that cause such therapeutic vulnerabilities.
In order to do so, the lab focuses on recently developed high-throughput sequencing technologies as well as genome-wide CRISPR-based forward genetic screens. Most importantly, the lab is interested in genomic instability and DNA repair mechanisms that can be leveraged for the development of novel therapies.
